About him
I am a two-time off Broadway actor, performed in many other productions, assistant directed two productions, and worked in the tech industry for some time.
I am currently studying for my Masters of Fine Arts degree in Playwrighting and Dramaturgy at the University of Glasgow. I have published my own book, and have currently sold over 800 copies worldwide.
Besides writing and theatre, I enjoy TTRPGs and have been playing D&D for 14+ years. I love films and reading books of many different genres, but my favorites would be fantasy, philosophy, and psychological thriller/horror.
I also play one of the many video games I have, but currently my go to game is Baldur's Gate 3 and my favorite game of all time is Dark Souls 3.
I love to walk, hike, and I play a mixed variety of sports including Tennis, Badminton, Golf, Kayaking, and Personal Fitness.
I had one of my best mates describe me, so this next bit is all them: "Rein is someone who cares about those whom he is close to and seeks to learn from anybody and any thing he comes across. He is a likeable person who will lend an ear if one is needed and make his thoughts known while being open to change."
Overall, I'd say my outlook of life is neither optimistic or nihilistic, but more absurd. I see myself as an absurdist, in the sense that, if there is no meaning to living, then one should not get caught up in it existentially, or think they can make a meaning where one is non-existent, like nihilism, but rather, one should keep on living (out of spite, sort-to-speak) of there being no meaning - which is absurd! - to enjoy life in all of its aspects, all of the good and all of the bad. That is to truly live.
It may be stressful and at times downright unfair, but we should keep on living. And while I keep on living, I always and will always try my best to find the joy and fun in life where I can.
About his ideal match
To be honest, not quite sure what to put here, so I may ramble a bit, but I'd like a partner who isn't too intense? Not a big fan of drama, ironically. Not to say that a strong personality is a bad thing or day to day drama is bad either, but constant issues can be draining, and that was the case with the last relationship I was in which lasted over 3 years that way. I can handle and listen to and even help (if wanted/needed), but at a certain point, it does get draining - especially if any issues I may have are not being listened too, helped, or cared for in the same way.
I'd say, therefore, the best "quality" in an "ideal match" would be communication. I feel as if communication and openness are at the foundation of relationships, both friendships and otherwise, and while it may sound cliche, I have whitnessed friendships and relationships in and around my own life fall apart due to simple miscommunication or not being entirely honest with the other person in a serious situation. I want to have deep conversations and be vulnerable without the possibility of being hurt or discredited or pushed aside. Listening and caring and communication may be at the foundational level of what should be in a relationship, but to me, that's what I'd say are the qualities I'm looking for, because those are the qualities I strive myself to have and produce in the world. I think we have to be and live the change that we want to see in the world, and being more compassionate and communicative with each other, being nicer to each other, is such a change I wish to see in the world.
I'd say a relationship would work if besides just trying to have fun in daily life, all the above happening mutually, and the appropriate setting of boundaries/expectations, still having both parties have some independance, like, having time to ourselves, with our own friends, etc., without the need of the other. Mutual support also always helps!
