About him
Hi,
In enjoying my retirement, apart from socialising, outdoor activities are among those that hold most appeal, especially looking after and relaxing in my garden, as well as leisurely walks in the countryside and at the coast, (preferably with company !) as I’ve always felt particularly drawn to water, - canals, rivers and lakes, but especially beaches and the sea in all its moods !
When it comes to holidays, friends in the U.S.A. (Minnesota), I enjoy visiting, while a camping trip down the east coast of Australia proved quite an adventure, as did a round trip to Moscow and St. Petersburg, (sadly “off limits” now}, entirely by tour bus from Frankfurt ! These days though, I’m just as content exploring destinations much closer to home (I’m learning German, though I’m still well short of fluent) and especially the many scenic attractions of the U.K. that I’ve yet to visit !
If you love music, it’s always been a huge part of my life, and over the years I’ve compiled my own digital “jukebox” of way over two thousand favourite tracks, - a truly motley miscellany that ranges over classical, easy listening and pop / rock of every decade from the fifties to the present, from Mozart to Maroon 5, but I regularly tune in to music stations worldwide on my internet radio to discover tracks new to me that appeal !
Despite a weakness for chocolate digestives, I manage to eat healthily for the most part, while the treadmill and weight training equipment I keep at home have long seen regular use and continue to pay dividends in enabling me stay fit and active. Feeling able to enjoy sharing at least some of each other’s interests would for sure make for a good start, but compatibility in relationships so much depends on how that famously unpredictable factor of the personal chemistry works out when in each other’s company, so if initial message exchanges appeared promising, my preference would be to meet up on an open minded basis and just see how we get along ...... Even if we were to end up concluding we probably wouldn’t succeed as an “item” I’d still enjoy meeting and chatting ...... !
I’ve long believed though, that couples benefit from retaining some personal space and interests of their own, so I’m not currently looking for a “live under the same roof” arrangement, though one should “never say never”, - it would depend on how circumstances evolved ......
