I’m looking for that rare thing — a partner who’s also my best friend ,to have fun and adventures with, sharing the best bits of life.
I'd like to think my friends would say I am honest, loyal and good company with a splash of mischievous fun. I can be spontaneous if the in-control side of my brain stays in bed that day. If not, I may need a little encouragement. I'm positive and optimistic, but not in a naive way. I dress casually but make the effort when it counts.
I've lived in the south west long enough to know its best kept secrets, and still find new ones. It's a good place to be, better shared. I also enjoy the occasional dose of city life and culture .
I have two grown-up children, one still at university, and a spoilt Spaniel. I'm semi-retired and have been for a few years — busy but flexible. I see working life as a succession of different opportunities: I started, ran and sold a couple of financial businesses, now look after my own property . I hold a trustee role with a significant regional arts and cultural organisation, which keeps me connected to something that matters.
In my head I’m about twenty years younger, and I try to keep fit enough to get away with the delusion — walking, exploring, and occasional long-distance running that borders on the daft. Keeps me sane (some may question it), and gives me an excuse to see places most people just drive past. I’m not looking for a running partner though — just someone happy doing her own thing while I get on with mine.
I like the arts in most forms — museums, galleries, live music. I'm a chameleon when it comes to music: jazz, rock, disco, classical. I love live gigs and dancing badly, and would like to do more of the former!
I'm fairly well travelled but want to do much more — in the UK, across Europe, and further afield. I like to go somewhere and actually experience it: walking cities, hiking coastlines, getting lost on purpose, enjoying the food. Activity over sunbathing; a good pair of shoes over a beach towel.

Integrity and kindness matter to me more than most things. I'd rather be with someone warm and genuine than dazzling and difficult. Tolerance too — life's too short for people who've stopped being curious about others.
Fun-loving — plenty of laughter is essential, but you don't need to be a comedienne or the life and soul of the party. Physically fairly fit, a little adventurous, curious about the world. Someone who enjoys the outdoors, takes an interest in what's happening around them, and is open to trying new things.
