Good guy, genuine, kind, intelligent. Easy going and sociable. Well educated, ex professional (finance, not that it matters). Normal, lots of lovely friends with whom to share laughter and good times. Children, 26 and 23, who’ve long left our parents know nothing phase and embraced they are actually a good source of advice stage! So I feel I have a lot to offer.
I like words, banter, wine/food, theatre, sport, books, history, quizzes, animals and the simple things — log fires, England in May, a good film, being somewhere near the coast. I enjoy getting away, but I’m equally happy at home and don’t feel the need to travel 3 times round the world before breakfast but we can do our own thing. If you are like me you’ll be seeking a happy, fun and fulfilled life without any more Internet dating profiles (!) DIY (but great if you do) and rhubarb – blame the school.
I live a mainly village / countryside life and would now always choose that over the city (except for theatre etc) or suburbs. Open to relocating in the right direction (South West has appeal).
I have an elderly characterful people centric dog called Poppy, a Wheaten Terrier. Beware the Wheaten Greetin’ and don't say “squirrel”. Photos at my 65th (wine tasting in café) are Jan 2026. Others 1-5 years ago. I’m age genuine and look for same.

Someone sorted, baggage parked, with a little spark/je ne sais quoi to share laughter and banter and who wants to make a house a welcoming home for friends and family.

I asked Chat GPT why dating can be tricky late 50s, 60s, and it said: the pool is smaller, emotional baggage is real, less willingness to compromise, expectations are higher and tolerance lower. All true but I’ve been successful on here and dated a few fantastic people without quite finding the right person.
