About him
I am by nature a bit of a shy person and have been a little solitary since my partner passed away some years ago. Now seeking companionship, affection and ultimately another long term relationship.
My main interests are classical music (particularly piano), wildlife, animals, countryside, the environment, heritage, architecture, industrial archaeology, railways, anything technical, preservation and restoration.
My current hobbies are playing piano, working in my home workshop, going for walks and playing tennis. I'm very practical and very much enjoy doing anything with my hands.
I contribute to numerous charities including Cancer Research, WWF, Woodland Trust, National Trust and several heritage causes.
I do not have great materialistic desires (certainly not flashy fast cars) though I do appreciate quality engineering and workmanship. My interests are instead centred much more on simple natural things and I take the view that "the best things in life are free!".
I no longer subscribe to party politics, but do see myself as a traditional conservative, believing very much in success through hard work and investment.
I do not have children but have formed good relationships with two of my step children and their families, in particular my step grandchildren aged 8 and 10 who I look forward to seeing during school holidays.
My desires now are very simple - I just want to enjoy my remaining years, and to make a positive contribution to the causes I believe in, preferably in the company of a compatible lady.

I would like to meet a lady who is intelligent, articulate and attractive. Also active and a bit sporty.
A serious interest in classical music would be ideal but I'm always keen to find new interests that could be shared.
Shared activities might include travelling around the country and abroad, attendance of concerts, visiting heritage centres and museums, wildlife parks, the great outdoors and pub lunches.
