Loyal, funny and interested I'm loving life after taking early retirement and returning to the UK two years ago after working abroad for nearly 30 years. For my sins, I've bought a derelict mill and have thrown myself into renovation and clearing the plot so if you're looking for a lady whose always well manicured with perfect make up, I'm not for you. Having said which I love dressing up, eating out, visiting new places, theatre productions, exhibits, etc. and can scrub up pretty well when the situation demands. Love being outdoors and am a keen walker and painfully mediocre tennis player but equally love cooking at home, lighting a fire and snuggling down with a good film/box set. Tempus fugit!

I would love to meet someone who is honest, kind and ready for a monogamous, loving relationship. A sense of humour and love for a good conversation is just as important as the ability to sit together quietly reading the Sunday papers or good books. Someone who enjoys their own interests/hobbies and who encourages me to pursue my own would be great but I think it's also important to have shared pursuits. I would love to meet someone who encourages and supports me, misses me when I'm not there (but not too much!) and genuinely can't wait to see me again. He also needs to be someone who's comfortable having these feeling reciprocated. I would be most comfortable with someone who is tactile and has no problems with emotionally intimacy. My ideal man would have good table manners and not just be considerate to his friends and relations but also to waitresses, dogs and old ladies! Not to say that he can't be grumpy or fed up at times - as we all are - but he would need to have the emotional intelligence to talk things through. He needs to like women but not be a womaniser and genuinely want to enjoy all the fun - and challenges - of being in a committed relationship. Obviously, he also needs to be an excellent hugger, and not mind too much if I swear during the Six Nations ;)
